O’Rourke retained as boxing president

Kildare man, Dominic O’Rourke of the St. Michael’s club was reinstalled as president of the Irish Amateur Boxing Association at the annual convention in Dublin yesterday.

O’Rourke will in office for a third successive year and he will be rejoined at the top table by vice-president Tommy Murphy and secretary Sean Crowley.

Stephen Connolly replaces Joe Hennigan as registrar and Larry Morrison was voted in as treasurer.

There are a number of changes on the central council committee, which is: Austin Carewth, Gerry Storey, Sean Canovan, Eugene O’Kane, Joe Hernon, Jim Smyth, Jim Walsh, Martin Power.
