Rossi clear in MotoGP

World champion Valentino Rossi stretched his lead at the top of the MotoGP points standings with victory in the French round at Le Mans.

The Gauloises Yamaha rider stretched his advantage to 25 points as he took the race win ahead of the Telefonica Movistar Honda of Sete Gibernau.

Rossi’s team-mate Colin Edwards took third but it was a bad day for the British riders in the race.

James Ellison, on the WCM Blata, and Proton KTM-mounted Shane Byrne both failed to finish the race.
