Irish women win in Turkey

THE Irish women’s tennis team had good 3-0 win over Norway when the Fed cup series opened in Antalya in Turkey yesterday.

Yvonne Doyle proved a keyfigure while newcomer, Irish American, Anne Mall, was also impressive with a straight sets win. Karen Nugent joined up with Mall to clinch the whitewash victory and boost confidence ahead of the match against Georgia today.

However, Doyle was the star turn, taking her match 3-6 6-4 6-3.
