Irish Davis Cup man Kevin Sorensen won through to the second round of the Italian Futures Tournament in Teramo, beating Alex Vittur (Italy) 7-5 6-2.

But he lost out on a quarter-final place to fourth seed Simone Vagnozzi, 6-0 6-2.
