Victory for Irish sailors

Ireland’s Paralympic Sonar sailors have won the Tappan Zee Challenge in New York. John Twomey, Seán McGrath and Brian O’Mahony are the first Paralympic crew to win an Open (able bodied) Sonar Major.

Tappan Zee was the first of four major events on their pre-Paralympic calendar and the line-up for the five race event included 2004 Open World Champion Steve Shepstone and former Open World Champion Peter Galloway.
