Harrison accepts doping ban

Olympic 400 metres relay gold medallist Alvin Harrison has accepted a four-year ban for drugs offences despite never failing a test, the United States Anti-Doping Agency has revealed.

The 30-year-old admitted he had used a number of non-detectable performance-enhancing drugs including anabolic steroids known as ‘the clear’ and ‘the cream’, EPO, insulin, growth hormone and modafinil.

In addition to his suspension, which began yesterday, Harrison forfeits all of his results and winnings since 1 February 2001.
