Cowley high jump double

Chris Cowley chalked up a jumping double at the Bank of Scotland Celtic Countries U17 International in Scotland, winning the long jump with a championship best 6.95m and taking the high jump from Northern Ireland favourite David Shields with his 2m clearance.

The 1500m went to Ciarnan Ó Lionaird in a time of 4m 2.13s.

Roseanne Calligan completed the double winning the women’s 1500m all of 10 seconds clear of the field in 4m 37.31s.
