Sonia on right road for London as Rudolph steals show

AMY RUDOLPH stole the show with the race-winning sprint at the Great BUPA Ireland Run in the Phoenix Park but Sonia O’Sullivan was beaming after achieving her target time - 32:18 - in the build-up to her London Marathon bid on Sunday.

O’Sullivan was only edged out in the final 100 metres by American Rudolph, who clocked 32 mins 16 secs.

“She had just a little more finishing speed than me,” said O’Sullivan. “It was important that I ran well here and I achieved that aim. I’m more than happy with how things turned out, to run so quickly at this stage of my marathon training and with plenty of mileage in my legs, proved my preparations have gone well.”
