Rossi begins testing

World champion Valentino Rossi got a taste of his 2005 Yamaha during testing at Sepang in Malaysia yesterday.

The Italian, who has won the last four MotoGP titles, completed a handful of laps on the machine before reverting to his 2004 Gauloises Yamaha to continue tyre testing.

Rossi, who had been fastest on day one of the test on Monday, was pipped to top spot by new team-mate Colin Edwards.

Today Rossi will test for the last time this year with MotoGP’s winter testing ban keeping him out of action until January 22.
