Johnson seeking new challenge

World Cross-Country champion Benita Johnson is seeking a New Year clash with Paula Radcliffe in the Great Edinburgh International Cross-Country.

Johnson, who trounced her rivals in Brussels last March to win Australia’s first gold medal, has planned the defence of her crown.

When asked if she was prepared to go head-to-head with Radcliffe at the Scottish venue on January 15, she said: “I’d love it. I’m hoping Paula might be there. I’m sure we’ll see her back at her best.”
