Delay in answering the Cuban question

There will be a slight delay in confirming whether or not the Cuban boxing champions will be able to fulfil a planned engagement in Liverpool and Dublin towards the end of March.

IABA President, Dom O’Rourke, along with Secretary Sean Crowley and Vice President Tommy Murphy, attended Thursday’s meeting of the Four Nations Committee in Liverpool and the indications are that a team of Russian champions will be on hold to deputise if the Cubans cannot make it.

The Irish National Championships will be decided by March 18 and the champions here will compete in the Four Nations Championships in Liverpool a week later.
