Ó Riain aiming for tennis upset

Elsa Ó Riain will be hoping for better results at next week’s Women’s Irish Open Tennis Championships than at Templeogue last evening in the second round of the Leinster Open Championship.

Ó Riain, seeded three, was shocked by the number seven seed Lucy Fletcher from Britain. It ended in straight sets for Ó Riain who was broken comfortably in both sets for a 6-4, 6-3 defeat.

She has been given a wild card along with three other Irish girls for next week’s Irish Open where she will be joined by Yvonne Doyle and Karen Nugent in the main draw.
