Recently retired Dublin footballer Ciarán Kilkenny has been announced as the new manager of the TUD Sigerson footballers.

An Instagram post from Technological University Dublin’s GAA account on Thursday morning revealed the eight-time All-Ireland winner as their new Sigerson boss.

33-year-old Kilkenny, who brought an end to his glittering Dublin career in July, which included six All-Star gongs, has wasted very little time in transitioning onto the sideline and commencing the next chapter of his GAA involvement.

During his own third-level days at St Pat’s Drumcondra, Kilkenny served as player-manager during the college’s maiden campaign in the Sigerson Cup in 2016.

TUD were beaten quarter-finalists in this season’s blue riband third-level football competition.
