Jim McGuinness will continue as Donegal manager into 2027.

The county board confirmed the Glenties man will remain in charge next season in what will be the fourth year of his second term, his eighth in total.

The 2012 All-Ireland SFC winning manager has guided Donegal to five Ulster titles, two in his second spell as manager. Their 2026 season concluded with back-to-back championship defeats to Cork and Dublin following an opening All-Ireland series win over Kerry in Killarney.

Michael McCann has been appointed the Donegal senior hurling manager for another two seasons.

Meanwhile, St Joseph’s-O’Connell Boys’ proposal for the GAA to conclude their relationship with Allianz passed at Dublin’s monthly county board meeting on Monday.

A total of 46 delegates voted for the motion with 26 opposing it and 10 abstaining.
