Teenage breakthroughs onto the senior inter-county stage are rare enough happenings any more. Dara Sheedy’s breakthrough continued apace on Saturday evening at Páirc Uí Rinn.

His debut came off the bench in the opening round against Cavan. It was his solo-and-go drive from inside the Cork half that ended with an assist for a Steven Sherlock two-pointer, the orange flag that commenced the home side’s final quarter come-from-behind victory.
