On December 1st 1960, the late Seán McCague, former GAA President, timidly approached the Dean in the De La Salle boarding school in Ballyvourney in Cork which McCague attended with a polite request. 

Scotstown, had played the Monaghan county final that afternoon and McCague was anxious to know how his home club had fared.
