Louth are the third county board to confirm they have made a self-assessed tax disclosure to Revenue.

The Leinster SFC champions have made a payment of just over €91,000 as part of the risk review agreement struck between Croke Park and the commissioners for the past four years.

That figure covers 2021-24 and was calculated based on last year’s estimate multiplied by four.

It follows the €126,000 Meath GAA paid to Revenue and Kerry’s declaration on Saturday. Although Kerry didn’t announce exactly what they paid, it is believed to be also under the €200,000 mark.

As revealed at Congress in February, counties in this jurisdiction would make self-assessed tax disclosure and payments.

The liabilities for the four-year period cover six core payments – managers, backroom team members, players, full-time county staff, casual staff and volunteers and referees.

Galway, Mayo and Wexford had been subject to full risk reviews but the deal agreed between Croke Park and Revenue meant counties would avoid the rigorous assessment faced by the three counties.

Largely because of the new tax bill, Louth recorded a deficit of close to €96,000 on the year in contrast to a €27,000 surplus in 2024.

Like Kerry and Meath, Louth’s team expenditure reached six figures, over €1.1m, an increase of €240,000 on their 2024 figure.

Player mileage costs increased to €109,000 as did team managers and selectors expenses to €241,000 and backroom team costs jumping to €44,000.
