Tyrone’s attacking ace Darragh Canavan is to miss the early part of the 2026 season after undergoing ankle surgery.

The Errigal Ciaran sharpshooter will play no part in the Dr McKenna Cup when it returns in January after a year’s absence from the calendar, and could miss the first couple of rounds of the National Football League as the Red Hands set about the task of making an immediate return to Division One following their relegation earlier this year.
