St Finbarr’s are returning to the scene of their most recent Munster Club football success as Semple Stadium has been confirmed as the venue for their provincial decider against Dingle on Sunday week, December 7 (throw-in, 1.30pm).

The Barrs footballers last graced the Thurles field when edging Austin Stacks by 2-9 to 1-10 to claim the 2021 Munster crown.

Twelve of the side that featured in last weekend’s comprehensive semi-final win over Éire Óg Ennis saw game-time that afternoon in Thurles almost four years ago now.

Semple Stadium was also the venue for the club’s historic first Munster Camogie final win last Saturday.

Dingle’s sole Munster Club final appearance - the 2023 penalty shootout defeat to Castlehaven - was played at TUS Gaelic Grounds.

The Munster Intermediate and Junior Club football deciders will take place a day earlier, Saturday, December 6.

An Ghaeltacht and Aghabullogue will square off at 4pm in Rathkeale for provincial intermediate honours, while at 1pm in Mallow, Ballymacelligott and Buttevant will do battle.

Of the six clubs in action the weekend after next, the Barrs and An Ghaeltacht are the sole two to have previously tasted provincial football success.

An Ghaeltacht are chasing a second Munster intermediate title, having also won the senior back in 2003, while the Barrs sit third in the senior roll of honour with five titles.
