Former Cobh Ramblers manager Shane Keegan has joined the Wexford senior hurling management team for 2026.
The Laois man was in charge of Tipperary club JK Brackens senior football and hurling sides this past season and works as head of coaching and games in his native county.
Rathnure’s Andy Ronan is also part of Keith Rossiter’s set-up for the upcoming season, while ex-Westmeath senior hurling manager and former Dublin U20 boss Shane O’Brien comes in as coach.
As had been anticipated, coach David Franks has stepped away after two years to join Darragh O’Sullivan in the Waterford minors after their highly successful partnership with Ballygunner.
Dubliner Chris Coburn is the new strength and conditioning coach. He has assisted the likes of Kilkenny’s hurlers and Wicklow footballers in the past.
More names are to be added to the 2026 ticket as former senior hurlers Joe O’Connor and Liam Óg McGovern are joining Rónan Joyce’s U20 management team for the upcoming season.
Rossiter’s lead senior coach and another Wexford-based selector will shortly be appointed.
Meanwhile, games that are called off in the forthcoming Leinster pre-season competitions will be decided by a coin toss. Due to the tight schedule of games in the O’Byrne and Walsh Cups which start on January 1 and conclude on January 18, there will be a toss of a coin to decide who are the losers and winners of cancelled games instead of them being refixed.
