Tributes paid to Anthony Walsh who 'gave a lifetime of service to the GAA'

Former Munster Council Treasurer and PRO Anthony Walsh from Waterford has passed away.
Anthony played for his beloved club Colligan and went on to serve in numerous administative roles within the club, the Western Divisional GAA Board and Waterford GAA County Board. He served as Waterford delegate to the Munster Council before his election as Treasurer in 2014. He served that position for three years and was then elected as Munster GAA Public Relations Officer.
Munster GAA Chairman Tim Murphy led the tributes who a man who 'gave a lifetime of service to the GAA'.
"Anthony Walsh gave a lifetime of service to the GAA as a player and administrator. After a long stint as Waterford delegate to Munster Council, Anthony served on the Management Committee of Munster GAA from 2014 to 2020 during which time he assumed the roles of Treasurer and then PRO.
"Following the end of his term as PRO, Anthony was appointed to the role of Chairperson of the Munster GAA Cultural Committee (Coiste Cultúrtha).
"On behalf of Munster GAA, we extend our heartfelt sympathies to Anthony’s family along with his wide circle of friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.”
Anthony was survived by his wife Patsy, sons Richard, Alan and Kenneth and daughter Antoinette. He passed away peacefully at the University Hospital in Waterford.
Anthony will repose at The Kiely Funeral Home in Dungarvan on Friday evening with requiem Mass taking place on Saturday morning at St Mary's Parish Church in Dungarvan before burial at St Anne's Cemetry, Colligan.
