Retiring ref McQuillan: "I was often called 'Dublin Joe' but they lost two All-Ireland semi-finals I refereed"

Four-time All-Ireland senior football final referee Joe McQuillan has had to retire from inter-county officiating as he has turned 50.

Four-time All-Ireland senior football final referee Joe McQuillan has no problem with being put out to pasture at the age of 50.

The Cavan match official took charge of his last senior inter-county game in July, Kerry’s All-Ireland semi-final win over Tyrone.
