Clare hurler Aidan McCarthy has shed light on his absence from Saturday’s Munster SHC defeat to Tipperary by confirming that he did not walk away from Brian Lohan’s panel.
McCarthy was not part of the matchday 26 for the three-point defeat to Tipperary, instead lining out for his club, Inagh-Kilnamona, in a league fixture win over St Joseph’s Doora/Barefield earlier the same day.
Brian Lohan was not asked about McCarthy’s absence when speaking to reporters after the 4-18 to 2-21 defeat.

The inside forward registered four wides in the Round 2 defeat to Waterford, including three frees, before withdrawn scoreless on 47 minutes.
