The Cork-Tipperary Division 1A National Hurling League final at Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Sunday week (4pm), April 6, is a sell-out.

After Páirc Uí Chaoimh was confirmed as the League final venue early on Monday afternoon, tickets subsequently went on sale at 4.30pm. The South and North Stands quickly sold out, with the Blackrock End also selling out by Monday evening.

Ticketmaster is now showing no tickets for sale, as of Tuesday morning.

The sell-out fixture would surpass the 42,030 that watched Dublin edge Kilkenny in the 2011 League final at Croke Park to end a 72-year famine, a game that was preceded by the All-Ireland U20 football final.

A crowd of 44,257 watched the Limerick-Waterford 2019 League hurling final, but that game came part of a double-header with the Division 1 football final.

The first League final meeting between Cork and Tipperary since 1960 will be preceded by the Division 1B decider between Offaly and Waterford at 1.45pm. Both games will be televised live by TG4.

Cork will enjoy home advantage in their bid for a first League title since 1998 owing to the home and away arrangement they have with the Premier County. And with each of Cork’s three home fixtures in the round-robin section of this year’s League having drawn crowds in excess of 20,000, demand for tickets to the final was always likely to be high.

The League final will be the first of two visits Liam Cahill’s Tipp pay to Páirc Uí Chaoimh in the space of three weeks next month as they are again in action on Leeside on Sunday, April 27 in Round 2 of the Munster SHC.

Cork's in-form inside forward Brian Hayes will miss the League final because of the knee injury picked up during the 12-point win over Galway on Saturday evening, but a subsequent scan has allayed fears of a lengthy spell on the sideline, with Hayes expected to be out for only three weeks. Hayes’ first-half goal against Galway was his fourth in two outings, bringing his League total to 5-7.

Elsewhere, also confirmed has been the details for this weekend’s Allianz Football League finals at Croke Park.

Sunday's Division 1 final meeting of Kerry and Mayo throws in at 4pm, but in a departure from the scheduling of the past number of years, it will be the Kildare-Offaly Division 3 final, and not the Roscommon-Monaghan Division 2 decider, that serves as the curtain-raiser. Offaly and Kildare has a 1.45pm start.

The Division 2 final has instead been fixed for Saturday (7.15pm), preceded by Wexford and Limerick in the Division 4 final at 5pm. Also on Saturday is the Down-Kildare Division 2 hurling final at Inniskeen (1.30pm).
