EXIT STRATEGY: Outgoing Dr Crokes manager Pat O'Shea.

Pat O’Shea’s outgoing Dr Crokes backroom team will remain in situ for the 2025 season, with Andrew Kenneally moving from selector into the main gig of manager.

It was confirmed earlier this week that O’Shea had drawn the curtain on his latest stint as Dr Crokes manager after only 12 months on the sideline, albeit those 12 months were restorative in delivering Kerry county league, club championship, county championship, and Munster club championship titles.

All four pieces of silverware came against the backdrop of a disastrous 2023 season where the Lewis Road club failed to emerge from their county championship group.

Finalising a management team for the defence of all those titles was quickly taken care of, with the club announcing on Friday morning that O’Shea’s backroom team has been retained in full. Former U21 manager Andrew Kennelly, who was a selector under O’Shea, steps up to the role of manager. Also on the line will be Luke Quinn, Denis Coleman, and Stephen Brosnan.

Earlier this week, Crokes were drawn alongside Rathmore and Spa in Group 3 of the Kerry club championship.
