In the end, a glut of goals won the game. In the final minute of normal time, Kerry were three down. They left Celtic Park with a three-point win.

Paul Geaney was turned over, won it back and passed to Paudie Clifford who laid off to Donal O’Sullivan for the fourth goal. Substitutes Geaney and O’Sullivan linked up for the fifth from the resulting kickout. It was a stunning finish to a sensational game.
