Munster GAA chief dubious about benefits of axing pre-season competitions

Only officially sanctioned challenge games between counties should be permitted, Leddy says, but he is realistic enough to know that some are played without the necessary go-aheads.

Munster GAA chief executive Kieran Leddy says additional challenge games in January will defeat the purpose of removing the pre-season competitions.

The province’s Munster Senior Hurling League and Walsh Cup will not be part of the 2025 GAA calendar following last Saturday week’s decision by Central Council.
