It’s natural for Cork supporters and most neutrals to wish for Patrick Horgan to end his wait for an All-Ireland medal on Sunday.

Eleven years ago, he was a few seconds away from it. I obviously know because I was referee for the 2013 drawn final with Clare. Not only that, it was Horgan who sent over a neat score to put Cork a point up in the first minute of additional time.
