In Ennis they saw the end coming. That was no shock in Croke Park as Cork ended Limerick’s five-in-a-row bid. In the inner sanctum of an All-Ireland contender, the writing was on the wall.

“It is a whole new ball game now,” started selector Clare selector Ken Ralph when asked at the All-Ireland final media night about the relevance of their Munster championship clash with Cork earlier this year.
