Cork GAA’s determination to monetise the county’s All-Ireland hurling final appearance is evident in the €3,000 asking price for a table of 10 at next week's preview event in SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

A day after Cork GAA announced that tickets to the post-match banquet in Dublin’s Clayton Hotel would set supporters back €175, they unveiled Wednesday morning a hurling final preview event that will not come cheap to those wishing to attend.

Tables for the event have two different price categories, with the “half forward table of 10” set at €2,500, while the “full-forward table of 10” carries a €3,000 price tag.

The €300-a-seat preview evening includes a drinks reception sponsored by Heineken, a four-course meal with guest speakers, including Jimmy Barry-Murphy.

As with the All-Ireland final post-match banquet, the event is being hosted by One Cork. The promo poster for “The Warm Up” evening states that the event is geared towards supporting team development.

One Cork - a fundraising branch of Cork GAA - was launched in November 2020 and its stated vision “is that all Cork teams are put in the best possible position to succeed, ensuring they can fulfil their potential at all times. That Cork GAA is fully resourced from a financial point of view and that the SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh’s (PuC) financial position is stabilised”.
