Mayo’s exit from the championship against Derry was as much to do with their first half performance as it was missed chances late on, according to former player and manager James Horan.

Conor Doherty’s penalty ultimately decided a dramatic evening in MacHale Park on Saturday. It was a contest with last-minute comebacks by both teams. Jordan Flynn forced penalties with a late point.
