Monaghan’s greatest warrior may have departed the battlefield for the last time 

Before last year’s All-Ireland semi-final, the former Monaghan goalkeeper Shane Duffy told a story. At 41, Duffy was still playing senior football for Ratoath in Meath. On the day of the All-Ireland quarter-final against Armagh, Duffy’s father turned to him in Croke Park and asked when he was going to pack in football and move on with his life.
