Niall O’Leary doesn’t wish to come across as arrogant. He’s simply stating his belief. His belief is that the Cork hurlers fully deserved to finish in Munster’s top three and progress on to the All-Ireland series.

Defeat in their first two outings pushed Pat Ryan’s players out onto the precipice. The potential for a second successive championship summer to be done by mid-May loomed to an almost smothering extent.
