Waterford will go into the hat for next weekend’s Tailteann Cup preliminary quarter-finals after they travelled to Portlaoise and picked up a memorable 4-12 to 1-16 comeback win against Longford, securing third place in their group.

They burst out of the blocks with an early Stephen Curry goal, but Longford responded with Aaron Farrell, Darren Gallagher and Daniel Mimnagh all hitting the target with high quality points.
