Brian Lohan said Clare had to use all of their grit and character to wear down Cork in SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Sunday. The positive result came just seven days after their devastating loss at home to Limerick, the manager also bemoaning their below-par finish against the All-Ireland champions.

Lohan said: "It was crucial they responded after a tough week. A good performance from our lads today, they stuck at it, even in the early part of the second half when things weren’t going for us. I thought we worked hard in the first half. To come in 0-14 to 0-12 down, I was happy enough with that.
