The top of Division 1 of Cork's SHL just got quite congested. Charleville went into Round 4 with the only perfect record, but by the time Sunday came around they had been joined on six points by Blackrock and reigning champions, Sarsfields.

The Rockies travelled to Carrigtwohill and recorded their third straight victory as they bested their hosts by 2-17 to 0-13. They led by 0-11 to 0-5 at the break with Kevin O’Keeffe sharp up front and Gavin Connolly impressing between the sticks. Carrig were down their sharpshooter, Sean Walsh, but Liam Gosnell stepped into his shoes as he hit 0-8 and when Justin Oke opened his account after half time, there was only 3 between them. Blackrock’s answer was emphatic, however, as goals from Niall Cashman and Fionn Coleman secured them the points.
