The concept of home advantage was questioned during last year’s Munster senior hurling championship when home teams won just three of 10 round-robin games.

Granted, Waterford’s two home fixtures were in Thurles but the home win percentage wasn’t much better at 40% in 2022. In both the pre-Covid round-robin championships of 2019 and ‘20, it stood at 50%.
