Larry Tompkins has called on the Cork players to “man up” to the reality that ending up in the second-tier Tailteann Cup would be “detrimental” to football in the county.

Despite their three-game losing start to Division 2, Tompkins still expects Cork to collect maximum points over the next two weekends against counties - Fermanagh and Kildare - that they “should be way above”.
