Cork GAA chiefs will tonight present Rebel County delegates with plans to rename Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
The news, first reported by Tony Leen in the Irish Examiner on Monday, that the home of the Cork hurlers and footballers will be known as SuperValu Park has received a huge reaction from supporters in the county and the GAA community throughout the country.
Three other companies -- Boston Scientific, Statkraft and PepsiCo -- will also have stadium branding privileges as part of the proposed package.
If given the nod, the total agreement is understood to be worth in the region of €1m up to 2026.
The money will, of course, be welcome as the County Board continue their efforts to clear the stadium debt. Many observers have expressed their dissatisfaction at one of the country's historic sports venues being rebranded as part of a commercial deal.
What do you think of the proposed plans?
