Asked at this week's launch of the Co-Op Superstores Munster SHL if he’d have an interest in playing senior football for Kerry, should an approach ever come, Fionàn Mackessy didn’t completely dismiss the idea out of hand.

Kerry hurling centre-back Fionán Mackessy has said he wouldn’t mind giving inter-county football “a rattle for a year or two”.

Mackessy is a rare dual crown in the Kingdom, having lined out in the half-back line on the MTU Kerry football team that reached last year’s Sigerson Cup semi-final.
