Limerick have confirmed the inter-county retirement of joint football captain Donal O’Sullivan.
The Monaleen goalkeeper made his senior championship debut in 2013 and was co-skipper with Iain Corbett when the county last year reached their first Munster senior final since 2010.
The medic enjoyed his best spell during Billy Lee’s tenure as Limerick jumped from Division 4 to 2 in successive seasons and won a McGrath Cup.
Limerick GAA Football chairman Wayne Fitzgerald commended O’Sullivan: “Donal has been a fantastic servant to Limerick GAA and has been a role model to so many present and upcoming Limerick footballers, “We wish him well in his retirement and thank him for all the wonderful memories he has given to so many Limerick Football fans down through the years”
