Ger Manley is set to be appointed the new Cork senior camogie manager, the Cork Camogie Board has confirmed.

Manley will succeed Matthew Twomey, who stepped down following this year's All-Ireland win. He was a coach on Twomey's backroom team that claimed the O'Duffy Cup in August.

Subject to the appointment being ratified at the next county board meeting, Manley will be given a two-year term, with an option to extend. Another member of Twomey's setup — coach Liam Cronin from Limerick — will remain on the ticket.  The remainder of Manley's management team will be confirmed at a later date.

As a player, Manley played at inter-county level from 1984 to 1997 in both codes, winning All-Irelands with Cork at minor and U21 hurling and junior football.

He since served as coach and manager with camogie and hurling teams in Cork, Waterford, Kerry, Laois and Tipperary. He was involved with the Cork minors from 2007 to 2009.

Twomey stepped away from the Cork role in September after winning and losing an All-Ireland final in his two years at the helm, having previously been involved as a selector. He was named this season's manager of the year.

The Cork Camogie Board acknowledged the great work done by Twomey and wished Manley and his management team the best of luck in the position.
