Jerry the juggler content to spin the revolving district door
REVOLVING DOOR: Jerry O’Sullivan admits that while he had little time to prepare the side for the championship, that actually worked in East Kerry’s favour. Pic: Brendan Moran/Sportsfile
When Jerry O’Sullivan assumed the reins at East Kerry in 2017, they had not claimed the Bishop Moynihan Cup since 1999. But under his stewardship, East Kerry captains have held the trophy aloft three times in the last four years and on Sunday he is hoping that Paudie Clifford will make it four from five. Guess what’s running through all those wins like writing through a stick of rock? Correct: Consistency.Â
Consistency of performance, of excellence and of the collective. Not that O'Sullivan would want to take the kudos, but despite all the talent at his disposal, the manager has to be given credit for keeping the lid on player self-interest.
