There is little or no association between Ballygunner’s success and Waterford’s demise in recent years, maintains Pauric Mahony.

In January last and feeling he had little more to give to the cause, the former Déise captain was the latest in a quartet of Gunners to step away from the inter-county scene at a relatively early age (30).
