Dolan to stay on as Westmeath manager for another campaign

Dolan will be looking for big progress in his next campaign and retaining the services of Jason Sherlock and John Keane in his backroom staff could be key to doing so

Westmeath county board have confirmed that Dessie Dolan will be staying on as manager of their footballers for another year. Dolan took over from Jack Cooney in 2022 but failed to secure promotion to Division 2 despite playing some good football throughout the year, especially in the All-Ireland SFC group stages. 

They narrowly lost out to Armagh and Galway before drawing with Tyrone, almost snatching a last-gasp winning point from a free that just went wide of the posts. Had that gone over, they would have qualified for a preliminary All-Ireland quarter-final bout.
