Douglas escape drop after thriller with Meelin

Relegation playoff goes to extra-time

 

Douglas secured intermediate hurling next season with a two-point win over Meelin in a dramatic Cork IHC relegation playoff at Glantane, coming through by 2:24 to 1:25 in a game that went to extra-time. 

It finished 1-20 apiece after normal time, Dylan Murphy with the Douglas goal. 

Brian Hartnett added the second early in extra-time to give Douglas a lead they held onto until the finish.
