Readying the raw ones: Cork’s Meyler thankful for pre-season games

Cork manager John Meyler and Waterford boss Paraic Fanning are both strong supporters of pre-season competitions like the Co-Op Superstores Munster senior hurling league, saying it gives teams a chance to blood new players and try different tactics.

The two counties played out an entertaining game on Wednesday in Mallow attended by over 2,000 spectators, with Waterford winning on a 1-24 to 1-18 scoreline.
