So enraged with the result and the performance of his county in that All-Ireland semi-final that Kiely phoned then county chairman Liam Lenihan the following day and asked to be given a role. From intermediate manager to U21 selector to U21 manager to senior manager, Kiely progressively harnessed his fury.
