Paul Conroy out for the season after leg break horror

Galway midfielder Paul Conroy is out for the remainder of the season after he suffered a double leg break in the first half of yesterday’s All-Ireland quarter-final round one game.

The impact of Conroy’s collision with Kerry forward Seán O’Shea could be heard in the upper Hogan Stand and both players required treatment following the clash.

However, it was obvious that Conroy was in more distress and a lengthy stoppage was required to treat his leg.

Walsh expressed sympathy with the former captain.

“We are just after hearing that it’s a double break in the leg, so it’s not good for the year for him,” he said after the game.

“We’ll look after him and I’m sure he’ll be bouncing around as soon as he gets things done with himself. He is a big loss for us, he’s a real warrior for the year, so we wish him well on that.”
