Clare manager Davy Fitzgerald hailed Galway’s performance in the six-point defeat of his side in the All-Ireland quarter-final at Semple Stadium.

“The energy and enthusiasm in Galway today was incredible. The passion they showed was first class and as a Clare man I’d like to say “well done” to them.
